Blade Sharpeners

Norwood Full-Profile Standard Sharpener

Quality lumber and blade life depend on a sharp blade. The full blade profile should be sharpened at least every couple of hours.

Most sharpeners and re-sharpening services only treat the tooth face. This leaves the blade vulnerable to premature blade breakage because it completely misses the microscopic stress cracks that form at the root of the tooth and in the gullet. The Norwood Sharpener maintains the entire tooth profile including the gullet. This unique action allows the stone to gently remove those microscopic stress cracks that, if left unchecked, lead to premature blade failure.

Semi-automatic, simply turn the crank and the Norwood Sharpener will do the rest, simultaneously advancing and profiling the entire blade in only about eight minutes.

The Norwood Standard Sharpener is factory-configured to profile Norwood Goldline Premium™ 1¼” and 1½” (7/8” pitch) blades (Item Nos. 41200 & 41210). Optional cams are available for other ¾”, ⅞” and 1” pitch blades*. Every Norwood Standard Sharpener comes with six Norwood MTW ceramic-compound stones which need no dressing or truing before use.

Why coil, package and ship your blades to a sharpening service, wait days or weeks for their return, and pay huge fees for the aggravation? A wise investment, the Norwood sharpener saves money and time. (Norwood Standard Sharpener: Item No. 41180)

* Speak with a Norwood customer service representative to confirm which blades the optional cams will profile.

Norwood Full-Profile Industrial Sharpener

Like Norwood’s original sharpener, Norwood’s industrial model is manually operated and sharpens the entire tooth profile: face, gullet and back. It features easy adjustment mechanisms to accommodate different blade widths (5/8” – 3”), different tooth pitches (5/16” – 1¼”) and different hook angles (0° - 20°).

A convenient magnetic blade retention system gives the operator positive, uniform blade clamping control. Equipped standard with a 5” (125mm) x 4mm resinoid grinding wheel and tripod support legs, Norwood’s industrial sharpener comes complete with everything you need to get started. (Norwood Industrial Sharpener: Item No. 41181)
